Are you in the process of planning a trip, namely one in which you will be traveling by RV? If so, have you taken the time to create a checklist for yourself? If not, you will want to consider doing so. A checklist can help to ensure that you have all needed supplies for your next RV trip. When creating an RV trip checklist for yourself, your list will typically depend on your own personal wants and needs. That is why you are urged against relying on checklists that you can print off the internet. Yes, they can serve as great starting points or guides, but be sure to personalize your list so that it includes what you and your family want or need to bring. To get you started in doing so, a few supplies that you should definitely stock up on for your next RV trip are outlined below.

Generally, where food and drinks are concerned, there is no harm in overstocking. Although it is a thought that you would like to avoid, it is important to take emergencies, like being stranded in your motor home, into consideration. As for drinks, it is important to always have lots of bottled water on hand. Water is great to have in the event of an emergency. Other drinks on your checklist should depend on the personal preferences of you and your traveling party, such as soda, milk, and juice.

As for food, it is always a good idea to have a some meats and other full meals available for your next RV trip, but don’t forget the snacks. In fact, it is a wise idea to stock up on non-perishable foods, such as canned foods. These are items that can be consumed without electricity, in the event of an emergency. If your RV trip involves spending a considerable amount of time on the road, as opposed to being stationed in an RV campground or park, foods that are convenient to prepare and eat are advised.

Speaking of emergencies, it is important to stock up on first aid supplies for your upcoming RV trip. Whether you will be traveling on the road or if you will be parked in an RV campground, it is important to remember that the risk of injury increases when away from home. That is why your motor home should be fully stocked with first aid supplies, such as bandages. First aid kits are a great idea, but make sure that you purchase one that is large in size. It is important to have enough first aid supplies, such as bandages, to go around for your whole traveling party just in case.

Toiletries are another type of item that you will want to stock up on, when traveling by RV, especially for long distance trips. It is important to have the necessities that will keep you clean and healthy. These items should include towels, washcloths, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and so forth. One of the quickest ways to ruin an otherwise perfect RV trip is to be unprepared in terms of your hygiene.

Of course, clothing is an important component of preparing for an RV trip. With that being said, you will want to ensure that you stock up on clothing and other related items that can assist you in the event of bad weather. These items should include umbrellas, raincoats, mud boots, and winter jackets. As a reminder, there is no harm in preparing for the worst, especially when traveling by RV.

As highlighted above, food, drinks, first aid supplies, toiletries, and clothing are just a few of the many items that you will want to pack for an RV trip. With that being said, there items are referred to as essentials by many motor home travelers. As a reminder, create a checklist for yourself, preferably well in advance of your trip. A checklist will help to ensure that you are fully prepared, which can also help to improve the overall satisfaction of your travels.

by Greg Hansward

When you own a home the most important lesson is to know the exact time to throw in the towel or plunger and ask for a professional aid. But it doesnt mean that you are ignorant or stupid, it only means that when you have to give up you know it. You act as a smart person who knows the exact time of giving up and do not kill yourself in trying to do it over and over. It is a last resort for most of the people and several times it must be like that. Usually plumbers are overpriced and for the travel time as well as many other hidden fees you have to pay. So before calling a plumber please make sure you absolutely need him. For a project if you have to call the plumber still there are few things that ypu may do in order to save some of your cash.

COMPARE PLUMBERS:

For the customer satisfaction the best method of selecting the best plumber is to select a plumber who is well reputed. Just check if they have some references when you call. You can ask your family and friends if they know someone and whether they were satisfied with that plumber because satisfaction is a vital thing. At first you might spend more but for one visit you will only pay as opposed to many.

PUT PLUMBING NEEDS TO A MINIMUM:

Perfect way to avoid spending a lot of money for a plumber is by not calling him. Most people call a plumber either for the drain backups or other drain problems, this is the main reason. Generally these things can be corrected much more inexpensively than calling a plumber for this.

The most recurring problem with drains are the grease clogs. You can correct this by doing a trial and error with many things that are in your house to see which one works best for your drain. For most of the people what works is to pour daily some hot water and vinegar in the drain and let it set for say 20 minutes then pursue it with some boiling water and it will clear up normally. On the clog pour the vinegar and water slowly to get a better result.

BUY YOUR OWN FIXTURES:

You can buy in advance stuffs like sinks and toilets tools tat you will require to install. The plumbers will try their best to sell whatever they have with them. The materials that the plumbers have are way overpriced as they generally mark up the cost. If you buy these in advance then a lot of money will be saved. But you can check in advance along with the plumber to find out the best brands to reduce any type of later confusion. There are some products that are cheaply made and most of the plumbers do not prefer working with those products. If you discuss this in advance with your plumber then you can surely buy the best product.

by Robert Hanania

After watching the persuasive television commercial with a former science fiction television star proclaiming just how cheap travel can really be, you might find yourself on the Internet testing the virtual waters. Unfortunately, while originally you might have intended to visit the website that your sci-fi actor was talking about, you soon find yourself getting side tracked into checking out some other site and deals, and before long you would be amazed that travel deals on the ‘Net’ are indeed not only cheap but usually feature some exotic destination that is amazingly desirable!

Even as you celebrate your delving into the world of online travel reservations, there is a little voice in the back of your mind warning you that deals which sound too good to be true usually leave something to be desired, yet instead of pulling back and steering your search to the more well known sites, you continue to dig deeper and deeper and land on a good many sites advocating steals and deals - even though the names of the businesses are unknown to you.

A closer look at Internet travel scams reveals that it is now the eager web surfer that will be at the highest risk of falling for one of the many ruthless campaigns currently being marketed online. A scam site with an impossibly long link (URL) may feature a well known name and logo. Travel deals closely mirror that of the original site with the company’s genuine name and web address. Being somewhat web savvy, you figure that this is the site of an affiliate and even as you are getting ready to go back to the original site, you notice that here the deals are even better than they are at the original merchant site. Dig down a little deeper and you will find the affiliate agent’s assertion that in desperation to make a deal, she or he will comp you part of their commission or offer you the deal at an employee discount. Stay away from these practices. They are not only unethical within the industry but hardly ever genuine. Furthermore, if the deal is made from a third party, you may have no recourse if problems arise and the affiliate will be long gone!

Conversely, a travel agency with a name you never heard of may be offering deals that are steals. Having numerous confidence inspiring banners on their sites, such as the ones from the Better Business Bureau and others, you may believe that you are safe. Unfortunately, blindly believing this is a mistake since anyone can cut and paste an image from another website, to be inserted on a fake website. Unless you can verify with the BBB that the company is actually a member, there is no reason to assume the logo on their website is genuine. Similarly, reviews, press releases, and testimonials do not have to be genuine. Caution should always be exercised, and the more amazing the deal, the more caution there should be.

The BBB advises this for people looking to resell there timeshare, but seems to apply for many types of businesses (in my view). The Better Business Bureau recommends the following:

* Do not agree to anything over the telephone until you have had a chance to check out the company.

* Ask the person to send you written materials.

* Ask for references, including address and phone number and contact them.

* Ask where the company is located and in what states it does business.

* Ask if the company’s salespeople are licensed to sell real estate where your timeshare is located. If so, verify this with the state licensing board.

* Find out if the company charges a commission. Do they handle the entire closing and provide escrow services? Do they charge an up-front listing or advertising fee? What does it cover and is it refundable?

* Be wary of companies charging an advance “appraisal” fee for services. Consider opting for a company that offers to sell for a fee only after the timeshare is sold.

* Contact the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org), state Attorney General’s office, and local consumer protection agencies in the state where the company is located to find out if complaints have been lodged against the company.

At this point in time the travel industry is the one with the most complaints currently found on the ‘Net.’ A closer look at Internet travel scams reveals that the numbers of fraudulent agents are former members of travel agencies who are going it alone, and are downright scam artists who are currently operating Phony websites and have maligned the good name of the trade in general.

Chile is located along South America’s west coast. It is bordered by Bolivia, Peru, Andes, and Argentina. Chile has beautiful pristine beaches that warrant the attention they get from tourists and locals alike, but other than majestic beaches, here are some of the places that you have to visit while in Chile.

1.) Cathedral of San Marcos

If you are going to stay in Chile, then Arica is a must-see place. Here, you will see the Cathedral of San Marcos. The designer of this cathedral is the same person who designed the Eiffel Tower, as such, this has become a tourist destination.

2.) Baquedano Street

It you want old-style streets, then drop by Baquedano Street. Walk along its cobblestone streets and marvel at its old-western style atmosphere. You can also find a lot of tourists here buying their souvenirs as well as enjoying other activities.

3.) Zofri

This is a duty-free zone in Iquique and is a favorite shopping area of locals and visitors alike. This place is a must-go-to because you can find cheap electronics here as well as cheaper memory cards. There are other items that you can buy as well.

4.) La Serena

This is an appealing Chilean town that has lots to offer visitors. Here, you can visit a museum where you can see an authentic Rapa Nui Moai head. You can also visit the observatory that is always open for the public to visit.

5.) Vaparaiso

This is a city in Chile that is popular because of its Bohemian culture, the colorfully-painted houses and the majestic views of its beaches and seaside. There are so many places you can visit here like the Plaza Echaurren-Serrano Street, La Matriz Church, and Ex Carcel. You can also visit La Sebastiana, home (at least one of his three houses) of the famous poet, Pablo Neruda.

6.) Chuquicamata

This was once a beautiful town, but now, it is a dying town. There is a mine here that is a must-see for any visitors, and it is advisable to go on a guided tour so as not to miss its history. You can still see here some equipments as well as vehicles that were used in the mine.

7.) Vina Del Mar

Home to wonderful coastline, this is a favorite destination for the sun worshippers and the beach lovers, but beware though because its waters are not that friendly for swimming. It is best to just walk along the shoreline and enjoy the view it offers, or you can just walk along Vina Del Mar’s downtown to enjoy the delicious native cuisine of Chile or buy your souvenirs. The best month to visit this place is in February where a lot of festivals are held.

8.) Parque Metropolitano

This big park is located in Santiago de Chile. From here, you can see a wonderful view of the city of Santiago, and you can also see the Andes. You can go up to its summit by riding a cablecar or driving your car, or you can even go on a hike to reach the top where you will get to enjoy the botanical garden and a zoo.

9.) Santiago Centro

This is a great place to immerse yourself with Chilean everyday life. You can stroll along its paseos. Word of caution though, beware of pickpockets.

10.) Rancagua

Here, you can go to the Las Termas de Cauquenes where you can enjoy a nice hot bath from its natural hot spring waters. When done with your relaxing thermal bath, then go on to Reserva Nacional Rio Los Cipreses, Rancaua’s national park that offers a great camping experience. You can also visit Sewell, a mining town that is now non-operational.

Despite continuous political turmoil that has left the country destitute, Haiti will remain to be one of the must-see countries in the world. The place will enthrall you with many interesting details and customs. Haiti will definitely keep you occupied the entire time you are in the place.

1.) Citadelle Laferriere

This picture perfect fortress is located in Milot over a high mountain. This was built way back in 1800s by Emperor Christophe. You don’t see a lot of these in other countries where their primary tourist spots are mostly beaches, and besides, you can even ride a horse to get up to this fortress if you wanted to.

2.) San Souci Palace

One can pass by the ruins of the landmark San Souci Palace, and it is located at the foot of the mountain where the Citadelle Laferrier lies. It lies on the edge of Milot and should be part of your itinerary. You can’t miss this one when you go check out the Citadelle Laferriere.

3.) Haitian cuisine

Tasty dishes are a combination of African and Caribbean cuisine. If you love Spanish foods, you will find Haiti’s spicier variation a nice twist from the usual foods offered in other countries. You can try any of the following; griot, poulet creole, kabrit, and du riz jonjon.

4.) Basket of fruit

If you love fruits, you will find Haiti a basket case of fruits. The streets can offer you bananas, mango, guava, pineapple, breadfruit, and melons. But before biting into one, make sure that they are properly washed and peeled first.

5.) Drinking pleasure

Haiti prides itself with its line of drinks that is considered top of the line. Recommended for beer drinkers is the excellent Prestige, and for rum, you can try Barbancourt 5 Star. If you’re out on the streets, quench your thirst with their special milk shake they call Papye locally.

6.) Labadee

Here is a tourist spot in Haiti which provides relative safety. This private resort is under the management of the Royal Caribbean Int’l. You will also find several merchants here to help you get some stuff to bring back home, and aside from shopping, you can try parasailing, swimming or snorkeling.

7.) Cap-Haitien

This city is the second largest in Haiti, and you will feel a very laid-back atmosphere in this place compared to its capital, Port Au Prince. From here, you get the chance to move to other places with ease. They do have good restaurants, too, which serve Haitian as well as French cuisine, and pizza parlors can be found in this area just in case you get a craving.

8.) Du Nord

Here is a look of the countryside in Haiti complete with dirt roads, remote villages and farm animals roaming around freely to graze the land. The huts are small and primitive compared to most Western houses, and it certainly makes you feel blessed. It gives the feel of a tropical island complete with a beautiful sky, flora and mountain - all the simple things in life we tend to take for granted.

9.) Rah-rah Season

This event is equivalent to the Lenten season which comes before Easter and is usually observed by Christians. Haiti comes together with voodoo priests who would wear elaborate headdresses in red and brightly-colored skirts carrying banners and poles. They are joined by nightly drummers who create sounds that give an eerie feeling, and you see people filling up the streets with dancing, chanting and singing.

10.) Port-au-Prince, the Capital

Of course, you will not miss the country’s capital. The city houses one of two airports of Haiti, Toussaint Louverture Airport. You get a chance to see and compare this urbanized area with other cities you may visit.

Malaysia is a great place to go to if you are the kind of person who loves both the environment and the city. Amazingly, Malaysia can offer both for you - from its natural treasures, to its man-made architectural wonders. You will find Malaysia to be a country not only rich in resources but also in culture. 1.) Rafflesia, Pitcher Plant and other rare plant species

The list of plant species you can acquaint yourself with in Malaysia is very extensive. In fact, Malaysia is home to almost 8,000 flowering plant species, some of which are exclusively found only in Thailand. You can find the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia, here in Thailand, and you can also find other rare plant species such as the Pitcher Plant.

2.) Malaysia’s wildlife reserves and natural parks

But your trip with nature in Malaysia ought not to stop there. There are also wildlife reserves and natural parks in Malaysia, and only in Malaysia can you witness the gathering of so many animals. Orangutans, lizards, insects, bears, elephants, tapirs, rhinoceroses, and so many other endangered animals are well-protected in Malaysia.

3.) Wayang Kulit

Experience the richness of Malaysia’s culture by watching the shadow-puppet theater that only professes too much how the Malaysians deal with each other. It also shows how remarkably well preserved their culture has been throughout time. There are also other unique forms of theater art in Malaysia.

4.) Petronas Towers

The Petronas Towers was once the tallest skyscraper in the earth. Today, the glamour of the towers has not vanished at all, and you have the chance of seeing the towers firsthand by visiting Kuala Lumpur. The astounding command the Petronas Towers has over the sky will surely leave you breathless.

5.) Mount Kinabalu in Borneo

You should pay a visit to Mount Kinabula in Borneo. The mountain has the highest peak in the whole Malay Archipelago. It is also a good place to relax and have some quality time with your family in the comfort of nature.

6.) Convention Center in Putrajaya, Malaysia

The function of the convention center in Malaysia is similar to that of the White House. It is actually a place where important government issues and functions are placed. You may not know this, however, because of the architectural beauty of the place but something you will surely revel upon.

7.) Sultan Ahmad Shah Mosque

Religion plays an invariable role in Malaysia. Sultan Ahmad is actually one of the recently built mosques, and yet, it has gained worldwide attention because of the beautiful dimensions of the place, a usual trait in mosques. Sultan Ahmad is one of the examples of classic yet modern Islam architecture.

8.) Longhouses in Sarawak

Longhouses are commonplace in Malaysia, but you might want to take a moment and visit these houses. These are houses built over rivers. You will surely marvel at how ingenious the houses’ designs are, inasmuch as it has stood the test of time.

9.) Terengganu State Museum

A visit to Malaysia can never be complete without a visit to one of Malaysia’ national museums. Before you think that Terengganu State Museum is just like any other museum, think again. It is actually one of the largest museums in Southeast Asia, and it houses diverse forms of art and archeological finds exclusive to the place. The architectural structure and design of the place itself will mesmerize you.

10.) Istana Kenangan in Kuala Kangsar

Istana Kenangan is a sort of transient house built exclusively for the sultan whenever he would visit the place. What is so unique about this place (aside from its being historic) is the fact that no nails were used to construct the building. This is truly an architectural wonder.

Two of the National Parks of the East which supposedly receive the most number of visitors every year are “The Sunderbans National Park” and “The Kaziranga National Park”. Home to scads of endangered and rare species, these National Parks provide an experience of a life time to nature lovers, who come down in scores to visit these places.

Sunderbans is the world’s largest delta and mangrove forest, which is the chief reason why tourists come flocking in to this place. The region boasts of a 2,585 sq km wildlife sanctuary-the largest estuarine wildlife sanctuary in the world. Though the place is inhabited by abundant wild animals like Macaques, Wild Boar, Fox, Common Grey Mongoose, Pangolin, Chital and several others, the star attractions of the Sunderbans are the Royal Bengal Tigers, who are on their verge of extinction.

Not only does this forest boast of it’s wildness, it equally houses some of the best Hotels, which provide excellent accommodation facilities to the guests visiting these forests every year. There are a huge number of Hotels in Sunderbans tailored to suit the budget specifications of the tourists. Some of the famous Hotels include, “Sundar Chital Tourist Lodge”, “Sunderban Tiger Camp” and “Vivada Cruises”. Each of these Hotels is very well maintained with fully air conditioned rooms and attached bathrooms. With spacious and well furnished rooms, excellent dining facilities, state of art business facilities and much more, these Hotels successfully lure tourists to visit this place in jillions.

For all those who need a thorough experience of this place, these Hotels also organize numerous sightseeing tours headed by a proficient guide, to provide their guests with the entertainment and recreation which they crave for in this wilderness. This is also an excellent time for the wildlife photographers to have a pick on these wild rangers.

Another must visit National Park in the East is the “Kaziranga National Park” located in Assam. This world heritage site, as declared by UNESCO, is especially popular for housing two-thirds of the world’s Great One-Horned Rhinoceroses, which can reach a height of over two meters and weigh more than two tones. It also provides a natural habitat to several species of mammals, birds and reptiles including Water Buffalo, Small Indian Civets, White Bellied Heron, Badgersblyth’s Kingfisher, Dalmatian and a lot many more species. Though the Park remains open from November to April, March-April is considered to be the best time for animal sight seeing. The Park is usually closed during the monsoons i.e. from April end to mid October.

The Kaziranga Park has a fairly wide range of accommodations available for it’s guests including rest houses, dormitories and lodges, which are especially maintained by the forest department and ITDC for it’s esteemed visitors. Some of the Hotels where one can comfortably find accommodation are “Bonani Lodge”, “Kunjaban Lodge”, “Bonoshree Lodge” and “Shangrila River Cruise”. These Lodges also cater the tourists with exciting tours which last around one hour on trained elephants that are available as mounts for sight seeing the Rhinos at close range.

Apart from these National Parks, there are a few other National Parks in this region like, Keibul National Park and Manas National Park, which the tourists can visit.

The east is definitely one of the most sought after places for nature lovers across the globe.

As low cost flights to Malta started two years ago, one notable absentee for the battle of the skies was missing, Europe’s leading low cost airline easyJet.

Competition was keen between the airlines to take up the lucrative UK to Malta route, and Dublin based Ryanair was chosen over rivals easyJet to take up the route, and the island benefitted last year with a sharp increase in tourists, reversing six years of decline.

Since then the island’s tourist authorities have finally waken up to the fact that competition in the skies could bring more benefits to the country than protecting her national airline, and new routes have opened between Malta with Germany, Spain and Scandanavia.

But of all the low cost carriers the best known UK one, easyJet, had been unable to fly to Malta having not reached an amicable agreement with the island’s tourist authorities. This is about to change however, and could see lower cost flights to Malta in 2008, a year when the Malta holidays industry is hoping to augment a successful 2007.

easyJet recently bought GB Airways who were franchised by British Airways to fly many of their European routes - including to Malta, with convenient afternoon slots out of London’s Gatwick Airport.

‘When we checked recently to book a BA flight from Gatick to Malta for early next summer, it was showing a flight at under 100 sterling, which is pretty competitive for a good time of day flight’, comments one travel guide for Malta.

Rival low cost airlines might view easyJet’s entry to the flights to Malta market as a back door method, while others in the aviation industry will view the development as nothing out of the ordinary when one company takes over another, and the new routes are part of why a company would want to buy another in the first place.

The UK market for the Malta holidays industry, despite the diversification the island has enjoyed with more visitors from Germany and Italy, remains a vital one and provides more visitors than any other country.

Currently for London and the Home Counties, the economic powerhouse of the UK economy, low cost airlines fly from Luton, convenient for the northern counties and North London. Gatwick, which is more convenient for wealthy Surrey and South London, is served by regular carriers.

But it is Gatwick that easyJet will be flying from to Malta, and potentially is the most lucrative UK route for a low cost carrier.

Figures recently released by the tourist authorities in Malta show an overall increase in tourists of over ten per cent for, and it’s the island’s highest number of Brits for some six years.

The increase is an impressive rise on the 2006 visitors, and it is largely thanks to the introduction of cheap Malta flights that has fuelled the increase.

‘The figures confirm that low cost flights are good for the Malta holidays and hotels industry’, add the Malta travel guide, ‘The launch of low cost flights from Ireland and the UK was always going to mean an increase in visitors from those countries. The exisiting route from Gatwick to Malta operating as a low cost route can only be good news for Malta this summer.’

In addition to the historic sights in Salt Lake City, Utah, such as the Mormon Temple, as well as the local parks and hiking/biking trails, there are four area family-friendly attractions that are especially attractive for visitors. Here’s a peek:

The Living Planet Aquarium Major fundraising is currently underway to build an expansive, freestanding building for a world-class aquarium in Salt Lake City. For now, a “preview exhibit” is open in a strip-mall-like location in the southern section of the city (it’s officially in Sandy, Utah). In the aquarium’s Marine Hall, you can touch the stingrays in an open pool, and watch the baby sharks–safely, from behind a glass wall! Kids especially like the Giant Pacific Octopus, Moon Jellies and Lionfish. Storytime is held in the Sunken Ship.

Discovery Gateway Formerly known as the Children’s Museum of Utah, this hands-on, learning playspace is now called Discovery Gateway. Its new location in downtown Salt Lake in The Gateway open-air mall is ideal–on the light rail public transportation line (as of Spring 2008), adjacent to shopping (for Mom if she’d like to skip out to Ann Taylor Loft while Dad supervises the kids) and restaurants (family-friendly eateries like Applebee’s and California Pizza Kitchen). Plan to spend at least half a day at this fabulous museum. Kids can’t get enough of the interactive exhibits, such as areas where you can pretend to be a weather person and read the day’s forecast from a teleprompter; use a crane to haul up soft building blocks to make a tower; and climb aboard a real rescue helicopter on the building’s roof.

Lagoon Park Drive 17 miles north of Salt Lake City and you’ll find more than 40 theme-park rides as well as a water park at Lagoon. The attraction is actually one of the country’s oldest amusement parks, dating back to 1896. Rest assured, none of the original rides are still in operation! Today’s thrill rides include vertical fall towers, suspended roller coasters (where you’re seated with your feet dangling), and the brand-new “Wicked” coaster, which reaches 100 feet. Tamer rides for younger children include a carousel and Ferris wheel. Open April to October.

Hogle Zoo Named for the couple who donated land for the Salt Lake City animal habitat in 1931, the Hogle Zoo features a brand-new Asian Highlands exhibit, with tigers, leopards and linx; Elephant Encounter, which recreates and African plain; and daily live-animal shows at the Wildlife Theatre. Hop on the Zoofari Express, which winds its way through the zoo, allowing for an overview of the entire park. This outdoor attraction is open year round.
